MONTHLY EVENTS

ASH Wednesdays

For more years than we might like to count, Adventuresses have been getting together for an informal dinner the first Wednesday of each month. New York City restaurants vary, as does the schedule -- contact Susan Rice for particulars.

ANNUAL EVENTS

The ASH Spring Dinner

Traditionally held in April, May or June, the ASH Spring Dinner is for members and friends of ASH.

The Annual Autumn Dinner

Traditionally held in November or December, the Autumn Members Meeting was at one time limited to members of ASH, but is now open to members and friends.

The Birthday Weekend

Sherlock Holmes birthday celebrations are held in New York and London the first two full weekends in January (the order varies between the two cities to enable fun-loving Sherlockians to "cross the pond" and attend both). ASH events bookend the New York Weekend with an informal dinner on ASH Wednesday and a Sunday brunch.

THE BIRTHDAY WEEKEND 2009 will be held January 8-11. See the Baker Street Journal schedule of events here.

The Gaslight Gala

The Baskerville Bash replaced the ASH dinner traditionally held at the same time as the invitation-only BSI evening. Although the Bash was not an ASH-sponsored activity, there were many ASH in the B.B.C. (Baskerville Bash Committee) Sherlockian scion. In 2007, the Bash was replaced by the Gaslight Gala.

OCCASIONAL EVENTS

Springtime in Baker Street

For many years, Bob and Terry Thomalen organized a Sherlock Holmes weekend called "Autumn in Baker Street." When this event was retired a few years ago, it was missed by many Sherlockians. In 2006, the weekend returned, reborn as "Springtime in Baker Street." Adventuresses flocked to Tarrytown NY again and had a wonderful time.

"The Game is Afloat" Baltic Cruise 2001

Several Adventuresses enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes Society of London’s 50th Anniversary Jubilee Cruise to the Baltic in August-September 2001.

The Sherlock Holmes Statue: London 1999

Adventuresses at the Return of Sherlock Holmes Statue Festival 1999 enjoyed the unveiling of the Sherlock Holmes statue at the Baker Street Underground station.

“The Great Detective”

This play is ideal for production at the scion society level. Although there are a multitude of parts, only six actors are required -- three of each sex. Read more.
